FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
