Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, per an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed following standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has encountered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a American military jet carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to head back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical fault.
